¿QUE SON LOS RAYOS UV?
La radiación ultravioleta es la radiación más «energética» del espectro solar con la que entramos en contacto, y por lo tanto es también la más peligrosa para nuestra piel. Los rayos UV se dividen en UVC, UVB y UVA.
• Los UVC tienen una longitud de onda que oscila entre 100 y 280 nm. Son muy peligrosos, pero son absorvidos por los gases de la estratosfera y no llegan a la superficie terrestre, siempre y cuando la capa de ozono que no siga sufriendo más daños y alteraciones.
• Los UVA tienen una longitud de onda que oscila entre 315 y 400 nm. Estos resultan ser muy penetrantes y como tales son capaces de llegar a la dermis y alterar la estructura de las fibras de colágeno y elástica, provocando así un envejecimiento prematuro de la piel y favoreciendo también la aparición de otras enfermedades cutáneas.
• Los rayos UVB, por otro lado, con una longitud de onda de 280 – 315 nm, son menos penetrantes en comparación con los rayos UVA y afectan la capa más superficial de la piel, la epidermis son responsables de las quemaduras solares, eritemas y otras enfermedades de la piel.
